Graduate Study

The School of Social Science & Public Policy is one of the largest groups in any UK university to focus on policy-oriented, multidisciplinary research. It has consistently received top ratings in Research Assessment Exercises and in QAA subject reviews of teaching. As well as the six academic departments, an interdisciplinary taught programme in Public Policy is based in the School, as is the Centre for Biomedicine & Society (CBAS).
 
The strength of the School is based both on work developed by individual scholars that is helping to set the research agenda in this country and internationally, and on multidisciplinary collaboration that allows the School to provide a range of innovative master’s programmes, including cross-departmental taught programmes in public policy and medicine, science and society.
