Biography

Tony bark is a senior lecturer in aquatic science. He graduated from the University of Southampton in 1968 with a BSc in Zoology. He gained his PhD on the microbiology of sewage treatment processes at Chelsea College, University of London in 1972. He was appointed as a lecturer in aquatic biology at Chelsea College in 1971 and joined King’s College in 1985. Formerly in the Department of Life Sciences at King’s, he joined the Geography Department in 2005. Tony Bark’s research interests concern the functioning and management of freshwater ecosystems. His teaching activities reflect these interests and he is currently programme director for the NERC funded MSc in Aquatic Resource Management. He also has considerable experience in environmental consultancy and until recently he was director of King’s Environmental Services, the environmental consultancy arm of the Life Sciences Department.
