English language requirements
If English is not your native language, you will need to provide evidence that you have a certain level of proficiency by taking a recognised English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL. Minimum scores required in the various English language tests are outlined below:
If you have recently studied or worked in the medium of English, the Admissions Tutor may waive the requirement to take an English language test.
King’s English Language Centre, accredited by the British Council, offers its own English language courses for those who need to improve their English language skills. The British Council recently awarded the Centre points of excellence in six general categories, the highest score achieved across all Colleges of the University of London.
- IELTS: 7.0 overall (7.0 in Writing & Reading, 6.5 in Listening & Speaking)
- TOEFL paper based test: 603 + 5.0 TWE
- TOEFL IBT: 100 + minimum 24 in Writing & Reading and 22 Listening & Speaking
- Cambridge Advanced: Not accepted
- Cambridge Proficiency: B
- King's College London International Pre-Master's Programme (IPP): B+
- King's College London Pre-sessional programme (PSP): 70%
