About the department

RAJ students The English Language Centre (ELC), established in 1987, reflects the importance King's College London places on the needs of the international student body.  We provide a wide range of English and university preparation courses that will give you the academic and cultural platform you need for your future studies at King's.

Our tutors are well-qualified and experienced and fully understand the challanges and anxieties you might face when coming to the UK.  You will enjoy free access to all King's Libraries, IT facilities, Student Union and support facilities such as counselling and visa support, as well as our self-access centre.
The English Langauge Centre is accredited by the British Council. The ELC is also a member of the following organisations:
  • BALEAP (British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes)
  • IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language)
  • AULC (Association of University Language Centres)
