Welcome to the Graduate School

vaughan robinson ' I am delighted to welcome you to the Graduate School. King’s has a long and well-deserved international reputation for research excellence. We continually attract some of the best academics in the world, and many have become leaders in their fields and changed the disciplines within which they work.

King’s has recently moved into a new phase in its development. The College and its external funders such as the Research Councils, Government and the National Health Service have invested over £500m in new buildings, new research centres, refurbished libraries, and further development of research teams and groups. This is one of the reasons why King's is ranked 22nd in the latest Times Higher World University Rankings. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) confirms our eminent position in the 'golden triangle' of the UK's research intensive universities in London and Oxbridge.

King’s realises that graduate students are a vital part of a research intensive university. They contribute to the intellectual vitality and vibrancy of the institution as they learn, grow and develop. And today’s graduate students are tomorrow's Postdoctoral Research Fellows and the potential Nobel Prize winners of the next decade.

For these reasons, King’s has decided to give an even higher priority to the needs of graduate students, and the creation of a Graduate School is the first step towards this.'
