Accepting or declining your accommodation offer
Please click on the Accepting Accommodation Offers 2010 link (to the left hand tree) for instructions on accepting or declining an offer of accommodation.
Accommodation Services will be sending 2010-11 accommodation offers and correspondence by email. Applicants must check their email accounts regularly, including any spam/junk mail folders in case College emails are delivered/filtered there, to see if an offer has been made and for updates. If you are offered a place in residence you will need to accept by the deadline therefore if you are intending to go away between now and starting at King's you will need to ensure that someone at home has access to your email account if for any reason you will not have access to email yourself. You will also need to make arrangements for your deposit to be paid to the Residence at which you have been allocated a place in order to reserve your place.

Intercollegiate Halls Waiting List
The Intercollegiate Halls Waiting List has now closed.
Once your application has been received the Intercollegiate Halls will contact you with an offer if you have been successful. Please note that offers are subject to availability and not every applicant will be successful.
Allocations
First Year Undergraduate Applicants
The first round of allocations has been completed and accommodation offers sent by email to eligible applicant who:
• Have a home address outside the M25 ring road
• Have not previously studied in higher education
• Were confirmed as holding an Unconditional Firm (UF) offer at the time of allocations

Further offers will be made to applicants who become eligible in the coming weeks.
Applicants with a home address within the M25/those who have previously studied in higher education will not be considered until subsequent rounds and should consider alternative accommodation options.
Graduate Applicants
Eligible applicants within this application period were considered in the first round of allocations in July and offers have been sent by email. Applicants who have subsequently become eligible (UF status confirmed) will remain on our waiting list and priority for vacancies which occur in the graduate quota will be given to new International/EU graduates who have never lived or studied in the UK before. Those on the waiting list will be sent information by email regarding their accommodation application status and encouraged to consider alternative accommodation options as soon as possible.
Non-Degree (Study Abroad/Exchanges) Students
Eligible applicants within this application period have been considered in the first round of allocations in early August and offers have been made by email. On-time applicants who have subsequently become eligible (UF status confirmed) will remain on our waiting list and priority for vacancies which occur in the Non-Degree quota will be given to new International Independent graduates who have never lived or studied in the UK before; at times of high demand European Exchange students who may be visiting the College for up to one year will have lower priority.
Those on the waiting list will be sent information by email regarding their accommodation application status and encouraged to consider alternative accommodation options as soon as possible.
Declining an offer
Applicants who decide to decline an offer and wish to be reconsidered for a reballot should write to Accommodation Services. However, given demand for accommodation it is unlikely that applicants will be considered for another place until after the start of session and should therefore secure alternative accommodation. Applicants with special housing requirements may refer to the information in respect of completing a Self Assessment Form.
Swapping rooms - general points
Please note that students may only swap after they have moved into the residences - see below.
If the person you intended to swap with changes their mind about swapping you will need to remain in your allocated residence unless you can find someone to swap with. Accommodation Services will not be responsible for arranging another swap.
Swapping rooms - King's residences
Applicants who wish to swap a room that has been offered should refer to the procedure in theMy residence (Regulation 3 on page 25) available at the bottom of the publications forms and regulations page, where more detail is given. Briefly however, students must have been resident in their allotted places for a minimum of 7 nights and written authorisation from the respective Residence Managers must have been received by Accommodation Services in order for a swap to be agreed.
Swapping rooms - Intercollegiate Halls and King's Residence
If you have accepted a place in a King's residence and wish to swap with a King's student who has accepted a place in an Intercollegiate residence the procedure is different from swapping between two King's residences. The Intercollegiate Halls will not permit any room swaps before 15 October 2010. If after 15 October both parties still wish to swap please obtain a swap form from the Intercollegiate Halls Accommodation Bureau. If the Residence Manager and King's Accommodation Services agree to the the swap signatures must be obtained and a swap date agreed. An admin fee of £30 will apply to both students and the Intercollegiate Halls will also charge for a replacement bedding pack if the students occupy a single study bedroom.
Redevelopment plans - update
The redevelopment works mentioned in My Residence Guide in respect of Hampstead Residence and King's College Hall will not start during 2010-11. Further details of the facilities which will be available during 2010-11 are provided on the King's Residences webpage.
